To All New Members should participate in working on the floats. It’s a great way to meet other members and build friendships.

The Float Committee has a Chairperson, Co-Chairs and Float Captains. They start early in the season and schedule work days to prepare your floats for the upcoming Mardi Gras Parades. Our floats are stored behind the Southern Extrusions building on S. Stillman St. off of Navy Blvd.

Southern Extrusions
3401 W. Navy Blvd.
Located 3/10 mi. West of the W. St intersection. Turn left (South) on S. Stillman St., enter the gate on SW corner of fenced in back lot.

The Float Committee (with lots of help) creates the float designs and oversees production and safety and are responsible for float maintenance and repairs. If you like to build, paint or just be creative, this is a great way to help your Krewe!

Parade Notes

We are only pulling ONE float in this parade (the court float). The 2012 Big Top Warriors Court has first priority for positions on the float, followed by the Court Support Team and then any BOG members who choose to ride.

Next on the priority list will be any KOW Members who are UNABLE to walk due to health or other physical limitations.

After that it's first come first load, with preference given to members who have actively participated on any Krewe Committee such as Ball, Membership, Kidz, PR, Float work, Design, etc. There will be plenty of room for walkers if the float fills up.
